Dr. Casna is a proud New Hampshire native. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Keene State and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Tech. He then successfully completed several years of rigorous post-doctoral training in small animal medicine and surgery including a rotating internship in North Carolina and surgical internship and residency in Maryland. In 2023 he successfully passed the board exam and continues to exceed the requirements to maintain his status as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Casna is an expert in all aspects of veterinary surgery. He is uniquely qualified to handle a wide range of orthopedic, neurologic, soft tissue and oncologic presentations. He has a special place in his heart for orthopedics. Beyond residency, he has maintained unwavering commitment to advanced training in total hip replacement, arthroscopy, minimally invasive fracture management, and correction of angular limb deformities to name a few. Dr. Casna was the 2022 recipient of the coveted Mark S. Bloomberg Award for excellence in orthopedic research. He continues to contribute to clinical research projects for the betterment of his patients and their families.
Dr. Casna has long envisioned returning to the beautiful Granite State to build a top tier, locally owned veterinary emergency and specialty referral center to add to the home-grown reputation that New Hampshire is famous for. Dr. Casna holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Maryland and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. After spending several years in small animal general practice, she dedicated herself to small animal emergency care in 2020. She has extensive experience in general practice, urgent care and VECCS Certified emergency facilities. Although the New England winters are an adjustment, she is excited to join the beautiful community here in New Hampshire and help the local cats and dogs with all their emergent needs.
